88. Coffee

I passed the time just me and my coffee
Sitting quietly by the street

The aroma of happiness filled the air
String flavored beverages and perfumes so sweet

I smiled and chatted at all who did pass
Sipping the essence of friendship as it warmed my soul

Others came and went as people often do
I sat contently enjoying life without a role

Despite my best intentions my cup became empty
Serenity turned to knowing, relaxation was at an end

I gathered up my paper and other such things
Morning was at a close, my work now to attend
